How to uninstall 'Settings' app?

Hi folks. Can anyone let me know how to uninstall installed Nokia 'Settings' apps like 'Storage Check' now it is no longer needed for 8.1? I don't seem to be able to bring up the long-press menu for settings apps. Thanks.

Set your date something like 2018 or 2020 and restart the phone. Then try to open the app you want to remove. It will give an error and allow you to uninstall it.

Why would you want to uninstall settings out of curiosity?

Thanks for trying, but this idea doesn't seem to work. I set my date to 2020 and then switched my phone off and on again. I then tried to run the 'Storage Check' settings app and it ran just fine, giving me no option to uninstall. The long press on that app still doesn't work. I've now set my date back to normal again.

Oh, and JoJoe, they all take up limited internal storage space so I'm going to remove old apps when they are obsolete, like 'Storage Check'.

Anyone got the answer?

1. Go to settings, then date + time.
2. Change the year to 2106 or later.
3. Press back and click any of the OEM settings at the bottom such as Nokia account, Storage Check, Touch, Audio, and more.
4. A message pops up about a problem with the app. Click uninstall.

BTW they won't free you much storage as they only compressed. The package still resides on the ROM, so the next time you reset your phone it will reappear.

It doesn't reside on the ROM as it is a downloadable settings 'app' I'm talking about. Storage Check does not come with the phone.

Out of curiousity, how many MB of space did you get by "uninstalling" Storage Check?

Not sure as I was cleaning out temp files and other apps as well, but it has a 1meg download size compressed so I'm guessing I've saved about 2meg, with data perhaps 3meg. Not loads, but enough for a couple of smaller apps or a podcast. Every little counts.

Or my uncle who thought throwing out DLL-files of programs was a good idea hehe.
