What I am trying to achieve is to get something similar to an old monitor I had- a Lenovo LT14234P which essentially was like a Wacom tablet connecting to a Windows PC via USB and using the DIsplayLink drivers. On top of being a monitor connected via USB, it supported full stylus/pen support using the pen.
Is it possible to get my Surface 3 to do something similar?
The reason I don't still use the Lenovo is it was provided by my previous office, and now when I went to buy it, it's >$500 which seems a bit excessive for what is a dumb Surface 3 right?
I also ask is it possible to do over USB to ensure that the performance is good (I find those wifi-based solutions to be less stable/reliable - e.g. hard to watch videos, manipulate data, etc). I've also got an app on my iPad from a Korean company called twomonUSB which also works really well but the screen is a bit small and there's no stylus, but essentially it uses Displaylink to treat an iPad as an external monitor which supports touch.
