HP pavilion dv9000 series

I am having trouble trying to update or upgrade the hp software on this. I went to HP's website and they no longer provide support for this series. To make a long story short I upgraded the original operating system from windows Vista to Windows 7 and to Windows 10. What I'm trying to do is put hp support assistant on there but when I download it and run the program I get nothing.

you have to open and run in compatibility mode and choose windows 7 then it should open up and install after that

windows 7 is no longer on there. I'm running Windows 10 on it.
