Looking for some input here...

Just got an HP Stream 7 yesterday and haven't really played with it much yet as I'm debating on how to set it up...

I threw a 64Gb SD card in and formatted it to NTFS and am thinking about changing the default save location for ALL files (documents, music, video & etc) to the SD, similar to how I have my primary PC setup, with an SSD for the OS and program files, but a separate data drive for all my documents.

Are there any pros/cons to this for a Win 8.1 Tab?

I've even heard of changing the default location for program files but I' concerned about a performance hit for loading programs...

There's no specific Windows 8.1 pros/cons of sticking your files on an SD.
The pros/cons would be the same for any platform.
Personally, I wouldn't do it. Unless I really didn't have a choice. And then it would only be static files I've got well backed-up elsewhere e.g. MP3's.
Reasons: speed, reliability, physical loss (I'd BitLocker the card too).

Thanks for the feedback, definitely food for thought...just trying to plan ahead a little for space.

Now we worry about Gb's of available space not being enough - my first HD was 10Mb I think :D
