HTC 8x started updating to Windows 10, but now it's boot looping

My HTC 8x finally gave me the notification to update to Windows 10. After about 40 minutes the progress bar was at about 2/3 and then the phone shut down. After rebooting it shows the cogs spinning for 15 seconds or so and then it shuts down again. With the charger attached it just keeps doing the same.

I'm totally new to the Win 10 update process. Is there anyway to recover the phone to a factory state?
