HTC 8x stuck at boot screen

Hi, I am thinking of buying the htc 8x I'd like to use it for at least two years. I need something that will not give me problems because I cant get it through Verizon (I want to get it through amazon), I just don't wanna get it and find a problem and end up losing my money you know so please help. thank you.
