I use with Directv...I may be blind, is there a way to bring up program guide??

Uverse here and i don't have one either. I assume the point of the app is to use their content discovery menus for selections instead of the hardware guide.

All I wanted was a simple universal remote or similar -- basic control of the IR port. I don't need (and can't use) all the fancy stuff they've 'helpfully' put on top of that. As a result the IR port does nothing for me.

It can also serve as a normal remote control, just hit the remote icon

True but I still need to tell it my brand of "tv" or "cable box" or "receiver". I want it to control my Xbox, bluray player.

I got my M8 today and have been playing with all of the features that are new to me, including the Sense Tv app.
I am pretty impressed with it and only wish they included a command that would actually bring the guide up.

I don't want to sound naive, but what am I missing?

My DirecTV Remote does all things DirecTV, including turning off/on my Sony LCD TV.

What is the advantage of the HTC Sense TV ?[h=1][/h]
