I gave in....

Hm, wonder what the difference is...

Any ideas?

Not sure. Could be multiple reasons. Initially I thought it's because I've a prototype RM-985 running official Denim but then there are others with the officially released models (RM-985/RM-984/RM-983) having the same issue. Actually my device hasn't rebooted today at all after reflashing it yesterday with the Rogers Denim firmware. It used to reboot couple of times daily with the Latin America Denim firmware. I hope it stays like this.

Nope not really. The 925 had a blinking Windows button while charging but nothing of that sort with the 830
Aw that's a bummer. There's LED flash for the camera right? Wonder why Microsoft (or an app developer?) doesn't utilize that. That's one thing I miss from my non-Nokia phones.. the led alerts.

I like that the USB is on top because when I plug it in in the car, I can still prop it up so I can see it - the wire doesn't interfere with the bottom of the phone being level....

In that situation, I can see the benefit. For me, I have a mount on my dashboard, so while useable with it on top, it's not ideal.

ShaneRay, did you buy your 830 from the Fido website or from a store?

I got it at a WirelessWave kiosk. Hate ordering online if I can walk in and grab it. :)
Hope yours arrives quick!

How are the speakers in the 830? They're crap on my 820.

Sound fine to me. No better or worse than any other phone I've heard. Plenty loud enough.

That's good to know. I think the speakers in my 820 might have come in defective. They're very quiet and have REALLY low quality. I've never seen any other 820 owners complain about the speakers, so they're probably defective. I hear other people's phones and it makes me jealous :P

To the Op, since the 830 has Qi wireless charging you could something like the Nokia CR-201 wireless charging car cradle / holder.

Looks like Amazon.com have it in stock too:

Woah! approx ?161 (excluding the customs tax) for the 830... that is a bargain... though knowing my luck customs will probably levy ?60 + on it....
They levied ?28 quid tax (+vat) on the TP2 import which I won on Ebay US, in total it came just under ?110 never the less it was well with-in my budget of ?120.

Still waiting.. Fido's website states a "7 business day delivery delay" is normal. My guess is they don't have stock of it and are ordering it from Microsoft?
If it wasn't for having just renewed my old month-to-month plan for December, I'd of canceled & gotten the phone in a store. I'm so impatient to touch this phone!

Well that optional unlock looks a bit fishy, outside of that the price is awesome
Its easy to get the phone unlocked. If your a AT&T customer they can do it if the phone was purchased for the full price. The only reason I didn't buy it is because its a downgrade going from a 1520 to a 830. I'm just going to wait for the next flagship Microsoft phones to come out. If Microsoft doesn't get their act together & release a flagship phone next they will lose a lot of customers. I mean come on Android is releasing new phones every day with crazier specs & lower prices from companies you never heard of.It can't be that hard to make a good phone for a good price. Nokia has some of the best patents that Microsoft can use now.
