- Windows 8.1 add Miracast support to Windows 8
- Xbox One will support Miracast (it will support WiFi Direct)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (SoC in Lumia 920) is Miracast certified

Nokia, I want miracast in my Lumia 920...

Make no mistake, Miracast is not confirmed for the X1 but DLNA, they keep swaying around it for some reason. They hinted it on a presentation, where they showed playing a movie to the X1 (PlayTo via DLNA) and in the next presentation after they showed off Windows 8.1 Miracast, the TV seemingly did not switch input and was still connected to the X1 (switched from the paused Movie directly to the miracasted Windows 8.1 startscreen). At the end of it he said "in this case a TV with a miracast receiver connected" so this kinda made the impression that the X1 IS the receiver, but they did not show that it actually is or supposed to. Still i hope the X1 actually has Miracast, there is literally no reason it not having it because like you said it has WiFi Direct support, Miracast is using WiFi Direct.

i have been saying it needs either miracast or an equivalent... they have HUGE oppurtunity here... Xbox One launching, Windows 8.1 launching and Windows Phone 8.1 launching all around the same time, they can add support to stream your windows 8.1 desktop OR your windows phone 8.1 device to the tv... This is the ultimate in ecosystem. They said that there is a whole new Smartglass app for the Xbox ONE, lets hope this is one of the main reasons for that decision.

Microsoft/Nokia I want miracast (Wifi-Direct or project my screen or screen mirroring or compatible Bluetooth software for NFC connection on smart TVs) for compatible windows phones. If Microsoft don't do it then must explain us why the wp8 mobiles (eg: Lumia920) has hardware and can't be fully used. I am waiting for new good news :).

I didn't think wirelessly, thought only the 1520 had the hardware to, but thought you could use a cable? Not 100% sure because when I had DP on my L920, it had a project my screen option that told me I had to have a cable plugged in.

While technically capable, cyan is making its rounds internationally and no mention of it. So, I say it probably won't, but I would love it if it did
