MediaMonkey because it does what I tell it to do. It rips songs (pro), and for those already ripped auto organises songs into sensible folders, synchronises wirelessly or by cable with my phone and tablet. It auto tags or manual. Artwork and lyric downloads. I can have an auto playlist of songs not recently heard. I used to use winamp then briefly windows media player and iPlayer, but they both wanted to take control.

MP3Tag. That will do it. Best metadata software I've used, though I haven't tried all of 'em. But this one does it for me. I use it to clean up my metadata, and it does it brilliantly either individually, or in batches.

Downloaded and installed both MP3Tag and MusicBee... Both are nice, I'm digging it

Foobar2000

Nothing comes close to Foobar2000 when it comes to customization and capability. Sure, there's a learning curve and it takes some real time making it look halfway decent, but it lets you save your settings and arrangements and looks with a file that you can plug into a new Foobar2000 installation. It took me tweaking my player for months before I got it to look and function just the way I wanted it to, but it was well worth the effort. It plays ANY kind of file you throw at it, sounds superior to other players and if you choose the right components, it is perfect for your unique needs. I created a stand-alone portable version, zipped it up and uploaded it to Google Drive for safekeeping. It's a two-minute set-up when I install it on a new computer or a friend's. More than anything, though, it manages your music files perfectly, making it as simple a process as you can imagine. I couldn't live without it, frankly. There's a real sense of accomplishment after you get it built and customized and it makes all other players pale in comparison. If you're serious about music and it's playback and and management, it's the only player to consider. Yes, it's some hard work making it, but have fun with it. It's simply awesome.
