i purchased lumia 730 in india. Can i use it in usa using usa's local sim like varizon and ATt &T.

phone purchased from indian online store. went service center with the same query. Some of them told need to unlock country code. some told nothing have to do. called customer care. They told it depends on bandwidth what you will be using. please clarify things.

To use a SIM in another country you need to have an unlocked phone. I'm not familiar with India but I don't believe any of the phones you get there are carrier locked. Am I right?

If you want to check you can try either of these two codes on the dialer, they may or may not work.

##7820# or ##782#

If either of those works you will get a picture with a SIM and an unlocked or locked symbol.

Working with us sim purely depends on bandwidth.
Indian mobiles are unlocked and country variants.

You should be fine. The 2G and 3G radios match what you need.
