I have the opportunity to upgrade from my NL520 this month. Where I am right now, and with my budget, my options are the NL 620, 625, 630 and 720. I'm generally satisfied with the performance of the 520 so my concern would be with the display, build quality and battery life. Any suggestions?

If you are from India , go get the new Windows Phone from Micromax or Xolo . Both are awesome and cheap . Else , wait for the next generation of Winphones . Don't buy any current gen phones . They are already quiet outdated .

630. I'll keep throwing this at you, but it's generally better to wait till the Micromax and Xolo phones (never thought I'd see the day where I actually recommend them) come out.

That's fine. But I'm working in Saudi Arabia right now, and Nokia is the only option I've got. But thanks for the advice.

My advice, wait for Lumia 730/830 or if you think you got enough, wait for Lumia 930 in India. Don't buy anything else.

I use a 820 and have a 520 as backup for my 820. But I switch the sim between them a good bit so I use the 520 almost as much. I would look at the 635 as soon as it is released as it is in your budget and is also a new generation phone. While I love my 820 I would upgrade in a minute if they came out with a 830. My 820 would then become my backup and I would sell my reliable 520. The only negative I see in the 635 as that they kept the ram at 512. I think that was a mistake and it would sell much better even if the price was a little higher if they would have upped it to 1GB.

Of those models, I would take the 720 (its the highest end with the best camera, display - along with the 620, and best battery life.)

In a nutshell:
620 - most compact, high quality display (480x800 - 3.7" - sharpest, yet smallest), smallest, yet replaceable battery, extra features over the 520

625 - raw size, the largest display, but not the sharpest. About on par with the 520 in panel quality I believe. (480x800 - 4.7" - least sharp, but biggest), non-replaceable battery, but has largest pack, on par with 720. 2000 mAh) has 4G LTE connectivity unlike the rest

720 - middle ground - high quality display, (480x800 - 4.3"), best camera, same non-swappable battery size as 625. wireless charging option. horsepower is about equal to the 520, 620/625 are a bit faster I believe.

630 - I would put it in between the 520 and 620 in most regards. (480x854 @ 4.5") Large battery. (1850~ mAh IIRC)

Theres more minute differences, but I think that's the jist of it.

But the midrange is due for an upgrade eventually, so I would wait. even if for some reason the 30's don't do it for you, the 20's will be cheaper..

52x, 620, and 720 have same processor, display resolution and graphics
630 is quad core but relatively worse display (480x800 4.5") and doesn't even have flash, ffc, ambient light sensor, or even a proximity sensor. Sucks.

Get 730/830
