IDOL4 Not Recognizing PayPal Here Card Reader

I recently received the IDOL4 which is indeed a snappy, beautiful-looking phone, but it doesn't recognize my PayPal card readers when I insert them in the headphone jack. Is this normal. I miss something, like a setting of some sort?

Maybe you might need the app?

Also before I can ask any more questions, is your Idol 4 running Android or is it the Idol 4s running Windows or is it the Idol 4 Pro running Windows?
