Don't blame your 920. You would notice that it does not work in IE Metro either...

The website needs to update their shiznit.

Website needs to update for a tiny single digit percentage of their visitors? Or Microsoft needs to do something about their browser being incompatible with the standards that 90% of the web uses for mobile?

*shakes head*

IE 10 and the IE in WP8 (not sure if it is based on 10) do support the majority of HTML5 standards that are as close to finalized as you can get. Webkit has a few more experimental ones, but, as a web developer, I can't blame MS for waiting for better defined standards.

The Coke site, is more than likely without looking at the code, targeting IE8 when it detects IE. Thus, it serves you flash. More than likely, they aren't properly detecting the type of browser/device and serving proper content. I'm finding this common even with Windows 8 RT (GF's Surface). It's a developer/new platform issue. Not the platform itself, but that being new, and not hugely adopted, it hasn't been widely developed for.

So, is the general consensus that IE isn't using the latest and the greatest technology for mobile AND PC browsers?
