Guys I'm working in Binghamton New York and the at@t data connection sucks here. Even the hotel WIFI sucks. I'm trying to keep up I still get emails I just cant get to the website during the day. Keep and extra eye out for me if anyone needs something right away text me or email me directly. I should be home by Friday.

I made it home finally. Its been a long time sense I've had an issue with data like that. I would get good WIFI at the hotel for just a few minutes then it would stall. Very frustration I hope I didn't have to go back there again for a very long time. The project went well with few issues with the work we did have to work a lot of hours though. I just got home last night after 10.

Glad to be home finally I'll catch up as fast as I can. Thanks for covering for me TWB everything looks good

Great stuff Dave, nice to have you back. Hope I've not broken anything with your forums.

Think everythings OK though, delighted to help out as ever.

I was trying to stay home all day and on the forums but I just got called in. I have to tell someone I just got some good news. I picked me up a Dell Venue Pro for free. I should have it by Wednesday. With all the issues I was having with my data out of town my boss told me to get it and see if it doesn't clear up my signal issues. He is convinced that my Titan is the cause of my problems. He has an Fruit Phone and calms it has perfect data everywhere. He is also a big Dell fan he buys Dell computers for everyone in the company so I am getting a brand new from Dell DVP for the total price of $0 can't beat that. He started telling me I should get an ijunk when I told him it would be broken most of the time you know cracked screen and all from getting dropped like once an hour then I told him about the DVP he said get it. I provide my phone and service for the company use they give me $75 per month to cover the charges so he can't tell me what to use but if the company wants to buy me a phone I'm not going to stop them.

Oh thats great Dave, as you say can't get any better than ?0 or $0 :D

It's a bit of a big fat monster I think though I'm sure you'll love it and get used to it pretty fast.

Let us know if it solves your signal problem.

That's something I've never experienced, but as you know it's not an AT&T Titan I have.

Why the AT&T Titan should be so different to the others I have no idea. It's only different firmware I believe. :dry

I think at@t/ HTC screwed up the 4G HSPA+ thing. Thats the only real difference but all the reported issues with the US version could easily be related to that. IMHO

Update: My DVP shipped today I will have it tomorrow should be a great Valentines Day.

Wooo how will you get to sleep tonight Dave ?

23.15 nearly here so I'm off to the land of nod here soon, what time are you at Dave, is it 5 hours behind me ?

Sorry TWB I was writing up a blog post I missed your reply you are most surly in bed now. To answer your Tims zone question I am at -6 US Central time so it think I am 6 hours behind you. When I work with the guys in Spain we are 6 hours behind them are you in the same time zone?

As for how will I sleep I think some exercise will do the tick so Ill have to see if the wife is up for some exercise tonight ;)

I'm convinced your boss is correct! The US Titan sucks! I've never had issues like that with any device. And I knew your Titan would come around soon and poke its ugly head.

Maybe it will be better as a WIFI only device. I'm hoping I can get internet sharing working in my DVP if so I will just use it for data on my Titan when I am not at home. I really think it's a HSPA+ issue. When I was out in Binghamton I would show 4 bars of 4g phone calls worked fine but I had no data. That's to say it wouldn't open a web page. Email came in fine its like all the things it would use 3g for like program updates and emails all worked fine but when I tried to open a webpage it would try to ust HSPA and stall.

All app/programs use the same data connection at all times. I don't think devices use 3G for certain apps, especially since HSPA+ is 3.5G.

I think it may be how the device is set up to hand-off data.

Oh woo hoo, great stuff Dave well it's my bedtime again so will have to wait for your report in the morning, that should give you time to play.

Have fun with your new curved screen (don't drop it yikes) and keyboard toy.

Catch you tomorrow Dave. :) Enjoy your DVP

Daniel call this thing the Cadillac of the Gen 1 devices and I can see why. Its almost as heavy as my Titan. The screen with the curved glass is very nice. The blacks are a little gray and the screen is pix-elated when you view it up close. The device is a solid rock it reeks of quality and is in line with what I would expect from Dell. The sound quality is far superior to my Titan the speakers are way louder and of better quality especially when playing music. I'm in honeymoon mode rite now so I will hold further comments for a week or so then I'll do a proper review.
