Any issues with importing contacts from a plain Motorola phone?

If the contacts are on the SIM card, I think they import automatically. That's what happened with my wife's phone.

If you're asking about the way Windows Phone 8 can handle contacts I can't say yet, but if you refer to WP7.x you can install Windows Mail from the Windows Essentials package and import CSV or vCard contacts which will then when you log in to your Microsoft account in Windows Mail, are synced to your MA and from there to your Lumia.

If the Motorola phone supports Phone Book Access Profile in Bluetooth you might also be able to use the Contacts Transfer App available for Nokia devices in the Store.
