Thanks for the tutorial, got it working on my 820. Once the apps are installed on our phones, do we receive updates automatically or do we have to update the apps manually (according to the tutorial) each time an updates is released?

proxy settings on the phone should be set to same ip address as your surface. ie: 192.168.1.3 port: 8888. Use details in your network adapter on your tablet to get on the same network with your phone.

Thanks Smurfercom. I did it but no luck. I ever suspected it's the firewall on Windows 8, but issue is still there after I turned it off. ~~~~

After setting proxy..restart your device..if it doesn't work remove your sim and try

It's too bad pro cam can't be opened directly with the camera button while the phone is locked with a security pin :/ It only works with the stock camera app.... shame, shame, shame...

Noob Question,

Where do i get fiddler from and any guide for it?

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. In address bar write "www.google.com"
3. Once the page is loaded type "Fiddler"
4. Press Enter
5. Once you see results the first link should be Official Fiddler unless Google decides to shove ads on your screen.
6. Click on that link.
7. Click big blue box right in middle of the screen that says something like "get fiddler"
8. Click download on the extreme right button (first two are beta builds).
9. Click save as and save it as Fiddler on your desktop of PC.
10. Once saved, click "run"
11. Follow installation wizard. Normally - next, next, next, I agree, next, next, next, finish.

This thread has got the simplest guides ever written on the internet!

Got fiddler, edited the notepad, however, I get a FiddlerScript Error indicating there is an invalid character at line 127, where I've added my phone's info. It reads:

Any suggestions?

I've done everything, my phone is connecting to the network, but in the store it says that nokia pro cam is not avaiable for my phone =( but I've done like it was told

edit: it works!! Had just to turn of wifi and re-put the configs on proxy.. thanks!! works great!

I Disabled Windows Firewall (Windows 8).
I got my SIM card out of my Lumia
I did plenty restarts on my phone but still, i get this annoying message.


Any ideas?

You have no connection - just check your ip address and port for your phone ...

Windows 8 laptop - click "run" (it is left down corner, right click by your mouse there) - write "cmd" there and click "OK" ... then you see command window, write there "ipconfig" and then look the row "iPv4 Address" and pick up IP address from there: 192.168.xxx.xx and port was 8888

A last sign (character) is maybe a wrong way - it should be
if(oSession.uriContains("RM-821_eu_euro1_425"))

not, you can set it to work to hold the dedicated camera button, instead of the normal camera app.. go to settings swipe right (applications), look for photos + camera, swipe down, you'll se an option that you can change for whatever app you want.. be happy =)

open the prompt command, type in cmd, then type ipconfig /all

look for ipv4 adress, should be there.. that's the ip you're going to use, this happened to me as well
