Installed the update, phone won't boot up

I'm getting the screen with the 2 rotating axles but it won't get past that point. And I have the phone plugged in. WTF?

Now the axles disappeared and I have a sad face on the screen. Does this mean my phone is cooked ?

Try soft reset.

If that doesn't work sounds like a trip to the store. . .

The frown is bad news. There are directions for a hard reset but likely it won't reset. I had this problem with a 521. It updated the first day I had it and then went into frown mode. I tried everything. Hard Reset. Draining the battery. New SIM. Didn't matter. Dead. Dead. Dead.
