Intel Optane or Samsung ?

I'm looking at building a new computer; not sure of all of the specs but latest Intel CPU at least. I was looking at the "Intel 480GB Optane 900P PCIe 3.0 x4 Internal SSD" or the "Samsung 500GB 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 Internal SSD".

I will be using this desktop for creation, specifically Photography using Canon's Digital Photo Professional and Adobe Photoshop / Bridge and some Lightroom. I do use Premiere Pro from time to time. I'm looking for speed in rendering large megapixel photos.

I'd go with the Samsung NVME drive. What are you looking at for RAM, storage and a GPU?

I'm going to re-use my Geforce 1080, I have planned anything else out yet. I'm working on that now.

I wanted to get a Evo 970's but read some bad reviews on Amazon about their bigger drives aren't being as reliable as 860's. So I opted for Optane. My Optane is performed good.
