Please don't post to say you have had the same issue.... I'm sure many people have....PLEASE tell me if there is a solution and what it is. I may be in the middle of anything, emailing, playing a game, posting on fb etc when suddenly no amount of tapping the screen will restore action. I can't change to another tab, and going back to the menu and then returning to the tab does nothing. I have to switch off/ downpower the surface then re-open IE. Please be aware, while I am quite bright, I am no techie here so if you have a solution could I have it in layman terms... feel free to speak to me in words of one syllable. I confess I am more at home with Chrome, but of course I can't get this on the Surface.... As I have had some very problematic times with the Surface 2 since it was purchased at Christmas (including sending the first one back to Microsoft - they admitted it was a defective tablet) I am feeling very down with Microsoft at present. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I'm afraid to say that this is a common problem with the RT devices,

I think that the reason why devices crash is because the RAM on the Surface RT line is really low, the processor could be to overwhelmed so shuts down certain programmes, and usually close down to app that's using up too much space, sadly the majority of the time this is Internet Explorer. From first-hand experience I've found that the 'metro' internet explorer (the one you can access from your start screen) crashes whereas the Desktop version of Internet explorer doesn't (usually) crash (before you ask I don't know why!) You could try to prevent Internet Explorer from crashing by closing apps you aren't using to preserve the amount of RAM used as well as closing tabs on Internet Explorer you aren't using.

Furthermore, you talk about your Email crashing, have you tried using the Email app on the start screen, where you can link up Google and Yahoo! Email addresses. You could always get in touch with Microsoft and see if they're bringing out patches to resolve the issue as well as looking on other online forums, or even nagging Microsoft on Facebook to get to the root of the Issue! Hopefully this Issue will be resolved when Windows 10 and Spartan (the new and improved Internet explorer) are released!

Hope this helps!
