Internet Explorer running in background when not allowed

I am a big fan of the updated Battery Saver app with the new options for filtering, but it has highlighted what I have suspected for a while:

Internet Explorer is by far my biggest battery drain and it doesn't matter if I set it to not run in the background

Now with the Battery Saver app, I see that it is listed in apps that can run in the background but says it's not allowed:

Interestingly, OneDrive and WPCentral are also listed despite being not allowed.

Can anyone else replicate this or is it only on my Canadian Samsung ATIV S?

I've found web browsing, especially over cellular to eat into my 920's battery more than I'd like.

If it says Not Allowed, its Not Allowed, it shows up there if it uses power, regardless of permission to run in the background.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

I'm still annoyed that I see any green at all in the background status bar, there should be none since I've had it not allowed since I installed the 8.1 Preview the day it came out.

You're right though, the browser is a huge battery hog.
