Internet jitter and speed.

Hello.

Im new to WP ecosystem and 635 is My first phone.

My question is about internet speed and jitter. It seem to be hickuppy. For example if I run Speedtest app, it shows quite a hickups while testing. If I compare whit the same price range android the test is fluent. It shows on app installing also in download process.

My other concern is speed and ping. It is slower that android. I will test more and compare whit laptop PC but what is Your experience and comments on this. It might be hardware's fault or WP OS bug or issue?

When you say speed and jitter, are you talking about what the browser is displaying when you're loading a page or something else?

Speed slower than android for example or laptop pc and jitter when talking about ping and jumpy readings in speed test and other place's like store download status bar or similar download status bars.

I think it has to do with the wifi adapter, either drivers or the hardware itself. I have 50Mbps down Internet, but speedtest never shows over 30 on my 635...even if I am right beside my wireless router.

So it looks its not Me and other have the same issues as well, so it is "normal". I wanted to know that, otherwise I would take it back to warranty. It doesn't bother me much that ping is higher that laptops or other phones because while browsing internet on phone it is unnoticeable/a little noticeable. High speeds are not needed too, because I can get around 30mbps in My home if I need to download something. (For reference whit Polish branded Chinese tablet I can get speeds hi as 150mbps under good router or around 70mbps under homes router)

If it's unnoticeable as you say while using the phone normally on IE, why do you worry so much about a speed test app? I've never understood people who are actively looking for a problem with their device. Stop obsessing about what tests/benchmarks say, you don't use the phone for that 24/7. Just use the phone and if you don't notice anything wrong or that bothers you, BE HAPPY!

I only mention this because I used to be like you, obsessing about every little benchmark. At one point, I realized one of the phones I had worked beautifully even though it did poorly on benchmarks... and I stopped caring. I've used phones that do great on benchmarks and then regular use leaves much to be desired. Use the product for what it is and if you enjoy it, forget about technical details that will never impact your experience. Otherwise it's like buying a car and obsessing about why your tires aren't a bit bigger: it'll have zero impact on how you drive.
