I can't comment on the iphone browser since I've never used one. But At&t's CEO talking about limiting smart phone users data usage would give me reason for pause.

I'm probably late to the discussion subject here, but I've had the Tilt2 since October 16 (via premier account).. It is infact an upgrade from my old worned out 8525 w/ wm6.1 . However, I was contemplating between the iPhone 3Gs and the Tilt2 (also considered the Pure) before I went to purchase the T2. I have 2 weeks to decide if the Tilt2 is it, and i'm still trying to see if it is feasible to get the iPhone 3Gs. My betterhalf will soon
be upgrading phone (from samsung flip phone ) and we are looking at the $49 upgrade for iPhone 3G 8gb as a starter. It maybe worthwhile for us to both get the iPhone (3Gs for me).. but I'm trying to justify.
What I like about the Tilt2 (and based on experience from previous wm devices)- customizable, GPS, multitask, keyboard, and used to the pHone features (and I do like the new features on the Tilt2).
What I like about iPHone: itunes (i have collections to play on ipod), i'll be "inline" w/ family who practically all have iphones, and faster/better browser...
What I have so far in my Tilt2:
Slingplayer mobile
CorePlayer (although according to handango, not compatible w/ tilt2, but seem to be working fine- to play my converted movies)
changeScreen config- from xda
SPB BackUp
SpaceReclaimer
YouTube (from Google)
Googlemaps- this and youtube i downloaded using the built in IE (not opera), before i discovered that there's a hidden app in the phone.
and other apps from the market place.

As for movie converter- I have been using PQDVD's DVD to PocketPc program for years now.. and no issues whatsoever.

As a mobile device... in hand using it every day for surfing the web, music, videos... the iPhone is actually quite good. One of the best.... however its short comings are pretty serious. It is a terrible phone (this is experience speaking) As a phone the iPhone falls flat on its face... I dont really need to go into the various reasons why... as cnet UK already has.

The phone part of the iPhone was bad enough that I left the iPhone in favor of the Touch diamond, and a bit ago for the Touch Pro 2.

At least the phone works ;)

You could always get the iPod touch and use that for video/music/internet ... using the TP2 (or :::enter WM device here:::) as a mobile hotspot.

Then you would have the best of both worlds.

This is exactly what I've been doing, use TP2 for business (phone, Exchange emails, GPS, IT admin tool etc.), use iPod Touch for personal (video, music, game). If I need access internet from the Touch, simply turn on the WiFi hotspot on the TP2. Works great.;)
