IR blaster, "Goldfinger phone", 8.1, etc.

Is there anyway IR Blasters could see their way into these next gen devices? I must say we have televisions that it would be extremely convenient to control with my phone (the remote has long passed, and universals are expensive.) I am loyal to WP and can't see switching, but I was wondering if these could be included? Also, what are some of your realistic previews for the goldfinger device? Specs, size, whatever. I am just interested.

Universals are expensive? Look for last years models on amazon and they are dirt cheap. Much better than using a mobile. Especially when you have multiple devices
