I bought a 630 right about a week before 535 came in the market. I was thinking that maybe 535 is better than the 630, though I don't regret my decision.

Anyways, my friend want to move to Windows Phone and he has about $170 as the budget. I was about to recommend 535, but I've heard that it has some touch screen issues. Is it worth getting the 535 for $145 or is it better to spend about $15 more to get a 630 (Which comes with the Nokia Coloud Boom headset) ?

Thanks in advance!

Here a quote from Paul Thurrott, which sums up my thoughts here:

Value-priced Windows Phone: Nokia Lumia 530 vs. Nokia Lumia 635

Now we're talking. The no-contract Nokia Lumia 530 may be garbage, but you can grab the infinitely superior Lumia 635 (no contract) from AT&T GoPhone for just $54 right now (normally $99.99). The Lumia 635 (no contract) is also available from T-Mobile for $90 at the moment (normally $129.99). Among the advantages over the 530 are a bigger and better 4.5-inch screen and LTE support (on AT&T). It's no contest, and for just $30 more normally—and $15 less right now—this one is a no-brainer.

Winner: Lumia 635

Here is a comparison between the two: Microsoft Lumia 535 vs Nokia Lumia 630 - Phone specs comparison

The 630 has a higher resolution screen, which would be better for videos and gaming, but it has less RAM than the 535. They have pretty similar specs when it comes to battery life and camera etc.

If you're comparing the 535 with the 635 and can afford both, I'd recommend the 635.

These are just the specifications on the sheet. I wanted to know about the touch screen issues that people have been complaining about. I hear some people had no issues, but most did. Is that a hardware fault or a software one? And isn't 635 just the LTE variant of 630?

By using it for a month I would like to recommend you for it.... Go for it... It may have some problems but for its price it's more than enough.....

Now about the touch screen issue, my problems are fixed with the firmware update......

I'm inclined to believe it's a software fault.

The 635 is indeed the LTE, single SIM version of the 630.

Its a software fault, I think they are releasing a software update to address the touchscreen issues.

1) update your phone firmware (not developers preview, if you are already in that un tick that)
2) then soft reset your phone...
3) Still if you have trouble hard reset it... It will work fine....
