What's the latest news regarding the "Andromeda" device? Should we hold off on buying new phones (Those of us still on W10P) Or should we make the jump to a new device?

What market are we talking about?

This will be a unique device, with no competition to compare in pricing.

The mobile phones market. MS can introduce a new market with a new device, that's true, but it can forget the mobiles one, because the mobiles are in expansion and in the future is posible that break the wall between mobiles and personal computers, and then, MS has to own a Little space on this area, or it will be lost.

Microsoft made a choice, contine with Balmer's failed strategy and risk losing the office and cloud market or abandon their fast shrinking mobile market and embrace Android and iOS. They choose the latter and have been very successful.

Microsoft is not looking at trying to jump back into the mainstream phone market. They don't want to chase pennies in hardware at the risk of losing billions in services and software. The mobile world is not the desktop world. You don't need to control the device OS to be a major player today.
