Hi everyone,
At this point, I don't have hope for new features for the Windows 10 Mobile we know (except Enterprise features, as mentioned by someone from Windows Insider team on Twitter, can't remember the name...), which is not that bad for me because the OS has everything I need. As long as apps get improved, and the OS get's more and more stable, it's fine for me.
However, I am bit concerned about Edge, which I use a lot on my phone. I would like to see the improvements available for PC's on Fast Ring coming to phones, not only about webpages rendering improvements, but also the PDF/EPUB stuff, the improved favorites management, etc, which aren't on feature2 as far as I know and probably they are not coming.
So, I would like to ask if is Edge getting the same improvements as PC, in terms of engine, rendering, etc.? I don't know for how long this feature2 branch will get updates, but in my opinion those under the hood improvements for Edge are important in the long term.

Thanks :)

I believe we will get the Document viewing improvement sometime in the future, don't expect much though

I don't think we have much information available to us on anything regarding feature2. But to be honest, I'm not expecting much of anything.

Looking under about:config page on each build of feature 2, I have seen things change, so I would say yes.

Personally my settings are:
Composition engine: Canary

All enabled features (the rest disabled):
  • Compose scrollbar thumbs ind.
  • Allow ind. rendering of HTML5
  • Use a full stack context for fixed position element
  • Apply scroll prop....
  • Enable responsive scrollbar scrolling
  • Enable new editing command implementation
  • Enable MSPointer event...
  • Disable navigator.pointerEnabled API
  • Enable Pointer event implicit capture for touch
  • Enable experimental JavaScript features
  • Enable Opus audio format
  • Enable Fetch JavaScript API
  • Enable service workers
  • Enable push notifications
  • Enable background sync
  • Enable service worker cache storage
  • Enable TCP Fast Open
  • Enable experimental networking features
  • Enable standard fullscreen API
  • Enable media downloads over Fetch...
  • Enable XMLHttp....
  • Enable Fetch base network..
  • Enable Enable CSS download over Fetch
  • Enable image download over Fetch
  • Enable Enable Web Authentication APIs...

Well, Edge on feature2 will certainly get updates with each feature2 update (or whatever they will call it in the end). It's a good question whether they will keep it in sync with Edge on PC

Thanks :) That's a good sign!

Well, an update is inevitable since MS gets to upgrade the browser ever so rarely in the form of system updates. I think that would be the case until it becomes a store app
