Hi mates,

My Lumia 920 charger isn't working .

Instead I am using Samsung charger travel adapter
Having output of 5.0 v --0.7 A

Kindly advise if it is safe to use Samsung charger.

It's perfectly safe, although may not be the fastest.

For future reference, voltage should be 5, amperage could be anything, recommended 1 A or above. but below that'll work.

The 920 comes with a 1 amp charger. The .7 amp one will work but I wouldn't recommend using it while it charges as it will heat up and probably discharge while charging.

It is safe. NOKIA's AC-60E charger is also shown as fully compatible and I can confirm from my personal experience, that any charger up to 1.5 A is safe to use. If you use anything below 1A while using the phone have in mind it can still slowly discharge itself instead of charging it.

I have tried 2A one too just to see if it works, it charges too, but I can't recommend it, because I can't confirm phone is rated for max. 2A input and I am not using this one for charging.

Thank you guy's, but just was in doubt whether 0.7 A output charger will compromise battery Lifecycle.

I tried a 1A plus 2.1A car charger and mistakenly plugged my L920 into the 2.1A port. It overheated to the point that it operated at a crawl in Nokia Drive. I had to take it off to cool down. Learned a lesson....

Not necessarily, I use a 2 Amp charger often on my 920 with zero heat issues etc.

But I don't have my 920 running something fancy constantly like HERE Drive often.
