Is it worth getting MS Band v1?

I've got a pre-order on Amazon for the release of the Band in the UK but I'm debating whether to cancel it or not.
I don't want to spend ?170 on it only for MS to release v2 six months down the line. I know nothing official has been said about the next version but I've come across a few comments on these forums in which people seem to feel the next one won't be far off.
So should I wait or buy v1? Thanks.

I would wait for one with better scratch protection and maybe hey cortana integration.
