Is Microsoft Office 2016 only OnLine????

I don't know if I have put this question in the right place......

like the title says.....will there be an offline office 2016???

What I have seen so far is, Office 365 is only a monthly subscription.

Well if that is the case that we can not buy it no more..I'll have to rethink my purchase of the windows phone

Anyone has any clue about it????

Of course there's offline Office. Office 365 includes offline access anyway. On Windows Phone the Office apps are free with extra features enabled by 365 if you need it.

what about when I have to use the computer instead of the phone. Right now I don't have office 365 in it and what I see is a monthly plan to get it..

I don't want monthly plan, I want to buy it, paid once and be done with it and stay in the computer.

Alain... I've not seen anything to indicate Microsoft won't sell a standalone Office. It's very lucrative.

Do you have a link to anything that says they won't?

I have no link....when I dowmloaded the trial of office 2016 and started using words. At the top of the document it says buy. All the prices are a monthly subscription.
This morning I have looked at the Microsoft download center, there 3 options home, personal, and home&student. The first two are yearly subscription as for the last it is a buy.

It is like the new office 2016 is related to the office 365

Office 2016 is not official yet... I'm sure it will follow the same model as 2013. There should be a purchase for life option (Home and Student).

This provides your core Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote.

Additional components can be had through the free SharePoint Designer download (filters, plugins, templates, utilities, etc.)

Outlook? I have all the outlook I need via my PC browser.

What would be missing that you need? Access? Publisher?

I believe the OP understands the Trial is limited. He's asking about purchase after trial. He wants standalone not subscription.
