Is Skype and messenger merging?

I've merged my Skype account with my messenger account.

However, I cannot see my messenger contacts on iOS Skype client, and I need to add them to my Skype list manually.
But on windows phone, they both show up - and they are separate - in the Skype app.

On the messaging app, I can only see messenger contacts.

This is so confusing. Anyone has a master list about what will happen to what client?

They'll probably have to update the iOS Skype app when/before Messenger goes down in April (iirc).
