Where do I start... I recently got the Sprint Touch pro and wow is it really slow. When I open the keyboard it takes forever to switch from portrait to landscape. Also the picture mail doesn't work well. This phone is a mess. Is it possible to erase e-mails on Pro and home pc like blackberry. My last phone was a BB Curve and was so much faster. Is it possible to upgrade the os or any updates out there. Maybe I should give it some time but this phone is driving me crazy.

he touch pro is one of the slowest devices I have ever used. I tried all the "speed-up" suggestions at xda. I disabled touch flo and that helped a little. The only thing that brought it up to speed was re-imaging the device with a hacked ROM from xda. Now it is just as fast as all my past wm devices have been. But my curve was still faster. Thats ok for me though because WM is the only OS that can do what I need it to do. But dont expect it to be a fast OS. It has never been....

I had the same problem when I first unboxed the phone. I also couldn't get email to work properly. I called sprint and they reset the phone and downloaded a patch that seemed to fix the problem

Speed: I am actually am impressed with the speed of mine for the most part ( I will always wish for more!!! :D ). With SOOOO much memory you can really take advantage of maxing out how much memory is used for caching. The quickest way is to use the latest version of Memaid and max out all the settings in the Optimizing section and reset.

Emails: I sync with Exchange server. So when I read emails on my Phone, it shows as having been read on my laptop. If I delete emails on my Laptop on, they will be gone on my phone.

fast here

My Alltel Touch Pro seems very fast and with the massive amount of memory you can't overload it. You really can't compare a mobile computer like the Touch Pro to a stripped down email device like a Blackberry. A BB is fast at the very few things it can do but it can't do much well outside of email. It is a one trick pony and only average at that trick. Cuz

Ok, everything is relative right?
The Pro is easily the fastest WinMo device I've used since the days of standalone PDA's (nothing has been faster than the hx2750).
One thing you might want to look at is doing a hard reset. Apparently there is an issue with the initial setup, where wiping the device improves stability.

Using my Sprint Pro next to my Wife's Curve, the Curve moves through menus much quicker than the Pro. However my Pro utterly destroys the Curve in quality of applications.
Take messaging for example, multiple inboxes. I manage 3 email address (1 imap, 1 imap idle, 1 exchange) text and MMS each from their own inboxes. I can't stand how all messages get dropped off in the same bucket on the Curve.
I could go on, not to mention there's no additional fee for using WinMo (and Mail2web is great and free).

The question is do you need beefier applications that can rival desktop apps, or do you need speed?

Whoops, meant to respond to your other issues too.
The MMS Sprint service has never been that solid for WinMo (broken almost entirely on the 6700 AND 6800).
Make sure you got the update for it (you'll have to fire up internet explorer - NOT Opera - and it should take you to the Sprint home page, there should be a link to check for updates). Even with the update, I find that the camera takes pics that are too big to send to most other carriers. In the Picture app, you can select to resize photos before sending. That helps, but Sprint's support for WinMo and pic mail still kinda blows.

As for email, can you elaborate a little more as to what you use (email service and software on your computer), and how you want it to work? Using POP or IMAP with GMail, I can select to either keep the messages on the server, or delete them off the server when I delete them from the phone.

Fuze - Speed discussion -query

Posting my question here since this thread discusses the speed of Fuze/TouchPro. My phone seems to be a little slower now since I have added/installed some apps.

Does adding/installing apps on PHONE memory kill it's speed? as compared to installing on the extended memory? (Can that be done and how does that affect the program/app and the phone performance?).

Thanks!

The install location wont make a difference in the device overall performance however if you install something to the SD card that updates it can cause your device to freeze. The best thing to do is just install everything to the device memory. What have you installed? If you give us a list we can review and help you figure out what is slowing your TP.
