So on the Asus support page for that product it appears not to have been updated since Windows 7.

Is there an exe for the DVD player? A clickable desktop icon? If so you could right click it, select properties and use the Compatibility tab to run it as if you were on Windows 7...

All depends what you mean by 'a movie' and 'burn'. Is it an ISO? Is it a MP4/MKV/MPEG/MP2/M4V etc.? Is it another DVD? Dual or single layer? Do you want to play back on a DVD player or just archive your vid files? Does your DVD player support playing back vid files directly or does everything have to be in standard DVD format?

I can't possibly go through all possibilities with you. Please specify what you are trying to accomplish. We need source details, destination details and possibly playback client details as well.
