Is there a risk for using the Developer Preview Program for Windows Phone 8.1?

blue screen of death ? That is so 'vista' era.. There might be some risks, better let some experts reply, but there is a 'gears' bug.. Though that was only with the ATIV phone.
And just to let you know, most nokia bugs, including bricking, can be solved by their tool which allows you to install your OS again via pc.

While an update installs the chances of the phone BRICKING is really rare and I highly doubt is gonna happen.

actually, I had experienced a blue screen on my lumia 820 and I had no idea why it happened XD, I had to do a hard reset in order for it to boot up properly again

The chances if any will be pretty much the same to a regular OTA update so u shldnt really worry...
