I am trying to figure out if there is a way to force the navigation bar to be hidden when certain apps are open. Specifically, i am trying to make it so that it is hidden by default on Live Lockscreen Beta. One one of the modes of the app has rings that make up a clock, which i was able to make a background for. The background works perfectly, but only if the navigation bar is hidden. It seems the app works by making your background image the actual background. It then renders a copy of the background on top of itself for the animated parts. The animated parts take up the whole screen, but the background takes up the screen minus the height of the nav bar so it doesn't line up. For reference, this is the image I made:

Your lock screen automatically shows the nav bar at the bottom. There are no settings to automatically hide it when you turn it on. However, swiping up from the bottom of the screen will hid the nav bar, swiping again restores it.

It will always start out displayed on the lock screen. I have no idea why, other than you may want to use the long press search feature to activate Cortana without having to unlock the phone. Long press of the search icon is the only thing active while on lock screen, but is the entire reason the nav bar is visible by default.

You may want to find a picture that will work with the nav bar in place.
