Is there any way to load 8.1 on a Lumia 950?

I realize there are many who's been using WP10 and thinks it's good, but it just seems to me Mail, Music, Calendar, I could go on has taken a step backwards. I want the 950, I just want it running 8.1. Can that be done?

I don't think so. It was never designed to run on the 950 so it probably won't. The software has to be specifically coded for the hardware.

I only ask because while trying out the Lumia 950 I realize for me Windows Mobile 10 is horrible when using the regular apps I use daily and often. Like Mail, Music, Calendar, People Hub. They have been neutered. But I'm sure some think they work just fine.

The absolute answer is "NO" and the reason is if you use the Windows recovery tool from Microsoft, it will see that you have the latest version of software loaded and will only re-load what the latest is again, what came on the 950 originally.
