Meanwhile at AT&T, the price of the Focus drops to $50.

Every week that goes by makes me a little angrier with Verizon. I'll still buy a Trophy when it comes out, but no new contracts for me.

I'm out of contract and can switch whenever. I've got a family plan so it will be hard to just leave. I've been pleased with the price and service its just this current generation of phones where VZ is really lacking.

Can only hope :( I too will get the trophy.. but also dont think I'll renew my contract....maybe just buy it outright.. so I have the option to leave at will...

May even test AT&T with the Trophy just to compare services.. ;)

Whats the price difference going to be between buying it outright and with the 2 year discount?

Do you guys really have that much beef with Verizon?

I guess I don't have as big of a problem with them as my earlier post implied. Like you said, their pricing isn't bad and their coverage is pretty good.

My problem is their attitude toward WP7. I've been waiting since November when the first rumors about the Trophy came out. I realize they had to wait for CDMA support, but Sprint has a WP7 phone now, so what's Verizon's excuse? Combine that with the negative comments from both their President and CTO and it's enough to make me a disgruntled customer.

I know that the grass is always greener and none of the US carriers are really known for being customer friendly. My takeaway from all this is to keep my options open and not to get locked in with a carrier so I can leave if they do something I don't agree with.

If the Trophy does indeed support the AT&T 3G bands then carrier hopping should be even easier. We'll see.

I told my friends that it was coming...and it just keeps....not...

I had two people waiting patiently.....but one broke down and got a Droid X...which he can take back if the Trophy comes out soon enough.

And my friend's fiancee really wants a windows phone...but her Storm is on it's last legs...

My buddy was waiting with me but he finally cracked and got an iPhone last night.

I'm starting to wonder if Verizon is going to be good with future WP7 updates (eg Mango) or if they will be the last carrier to push them out.

I don't understand people breaking down and buying an iPhone or Android. If WP7 is important to you, can't you wait a few more weeks? And if it's not, why wait this long in the first place?

I posted this in the comments section on the main page:

Strange that it would be a Friday when it seems like every other release they have is on a Thursday.

Anyone else think Verizon has been pushing back the Trophy because they have a deal with Sony? Looking at that phandroid source, it looks like the Xperia, the "Playstation phone", comes out a day before the Trophy, the "XBox phone."

I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but if Verizon had some deal with Sony to release their phone first it would explain the delays AND the Friday release.

It would seem so, right? Verizon isn't really caring too much for WP7 and it's fanbase. That is simply because it's, at this time, too small. Although, I think their apparent lack of support is due in part of the debacle that was the Kin.

Simple fact is: AT&T has better WP7 devices and more of them. If we're keeping score it's 3 - 0. It might actually be 4 - 0 depending on when the HD7S is released.
As far as service, both customer and voice/data, it's more of an opinion for most people, but I think that whatever actual differences there are, are vastly inflated.
