Is it normal for the Lumia 635 to get EXTREMELY HOT whilst charging? I'm not using the phone at time of charging, but it feels too hot to pick up!

depends on temps etc
plus if you are doing a charge from absolute 0%,itll heat up alot

phones usually get hot when charging, but if it's waaay to hot to pick up like you said, you should check customer service

Very warm is normal, but if You cant hold it in Your hand and might after that smell smoke and see melted parts then it is too much. Otherwise it is normal and while charging from near 0% to 100% phone will be very warm from like 20-80%.

My 635 did this once.
The very first charge out of the box worried me because the device was very warm on the included charger.

Ever since it has run quit cool to slightly warm in use.
Never gets very warm while charging.

ive had this issue the first time with my 820 as well,charger was literally close to melting,never used that charger again because i had a spare nokia charger from my old broken 720(black)
