Is this phone guaranteed a Windows 10 update?

So I bought both a Moto G LTE and this to compare, and I've decided to keep my Moto G as it's a far superior performer when it comes to web browsing, something I hope Windows 10 will fix.

But rather than to return the phone, I've decided to keep it as a dedicated music player ($55 on sale at Target, not bad price!).

Meanwhile, I was wondering if this phone will get updated to Windows Phone 10? I've read Microsoft claimed most Windows 8.1 phones will get the update, but I'm worried about T-Mobile blocking the update (This was a prepaid T-Mobile phone).

If so, it'll give me an idea of how Windows Phone 10 is and whether I will consider a flagsip WP 10 in the future.

If it were an unbranded 635, I would say its guaranteed.

But since its tied to T-Mobile which'll stick its hands into the update, the odds are good that it will eventually happen. (as in, I'm willing to bet on it) I don't know how quick after release for other phones it'll be though. Several months or never at the worst (unlikely), released at the speed of fast at best.

HOWEVER, you can sign up for the Preview for Developers program that gives you official OS software updates when they launch a bit early, as something kinda between beta and the final release, which might be right up your alley, especially since it sounds like the Moto is your main phone.

From my experience with tmobile over the year's with WP. They have released updates for nearly all phones expect the 810. They have been timely and sometimes even before at&t released updates for their phones.
Has for wp10 I can only hope they will do the same.
