To help out new buyers: does anyone know whether the 1.3 spec can be derived from any of the codes on the box? Thanks.

i haven’t check my box , but honestly I think i can say NO..

when mango came out a bunch of people where asking . you had 2 option ..

ether a sticker UNDER the battery of the phone says 1.3 or 1.4

OR

you had to go into the Core of the phone and check the stats.

no one ever mentioned the box. and if it was on the box i think someone would of said something by now instead of going through the 10 steps to access it lol

Thanks, Se1f. It is under the battery, but that's not very helpful to new buyers. I still have my box, and it does not say it explicitly anywhere. But, there is a code named SW-VER that could include an indicator. My phone is a 1.3 and this code reads 917UCJK2. The 917 is obvious, but the rest is not and may signal one version or the other. There are several other codes on the box. The 1.3/1.4 distinction didn't become an issue until a time most owners would have dumped their boxes. But, even if they hadn't or haven't, it would be a matter of deriving not reading a code; thus, it's a matter of someone being "in the know" -even if...
