Is Windows 10S a good deal?

In short, no. BUT, it does fill a role in the market for light, less-technically-inclined users. Not students.

I don't think so. I believe Microsoft aimed windows 10S at high school and grade school level students. College students need the full windows version. The windows store is just to scanty for windows 10S to even exist for college students.

How do you determine that all college students need Windows 10 Pro. If they are in a technical discipline, maybe. But if they are in a liberal arts discipline, all they are doing is writing papers, doing email, and web. The only thing I can see that might cause a problem is if the school is pushing Google Docs, Chrome, etc. And if that's the case, their best device would be a Chromebook.

I think it has what it "needs" but in the end the student has to choose what they want. If I where a student now, I would choose what's best compatible with the rest of the class and the school itself...
