Is Xbox Music as mind-numbingly awful on newer Windows Phones?

The problem with using the Music Hub Tile (as has been mentioned before) is when you hit the volume buttons to bring up the dropdown menu to skip/reverse songs, when you hit the song title to get into the app, it takes you to the Xbox Music app, not the Music Hub. Not really a HUGE deal, but annoying none the less. Just another convenient function you loose by going this route.

And apparently Xbox Music is written in ActionScript, which I do believe Javascript is a subset off.
It is a fairly new programming language. Why they chose to use it for XBM I have no idea.

I feel so strongly about the POOR music experience on WP8.1 that I flashed my phone back to WP8.0.

More like IN-actionscript! AMIRITE?!?

harharharhar!! ...sorry.

Bi-weekly updates are not enough. We need weekly updates. Or even ASAP. It's that bad.
You really dont want weekly updates,, it just a waste of resources that could be fixing it,, prepping for release, QA etc etc all adds up in time and cost, I think monthly updates would be better it would give the team more time to release a solid product as opposed to having to churn out whatever they have done regardless of if it adds any real value.

You mean like what they're doing?

It's almost two weeks now (fingers crossed)

Pretty sure I read that Ms turned the music app development over to the French part of ms, I hope Redmond appreciate that France shuts during the week from 12 - 2 pm without exception and in August everyone in France goes on holiday, absolutely everyone, so if the music app is not finished and working without issue before the end of july forget it until September...
And if you tell the French no holidays, the app MUST be complete, they just strike !!

Nah. If you tell them forcefully they will simply surrender ;)
At least they aren't Nigerians who will undoubtedly have a bevy of sick cousins and parents during summer. On the bright side we'd still have Zune because they'd do jack (Source: I'm partly Nigerian)

I appreciate everyone's issues with Xbox Music but I have around 20GB of music and apart from a two second delay loading albums sometimes, it is pretty fast.

Have people tried resetting their phones? I did that with my 520 (with music saved to SD) and it sped things up big time.

Yes hard reset has been done. The music app is pretty much dead to me

...what we want is the functionality: the ability to manage music AND podcasts in one app (imagine that); seamless local syncing; the ability to easily find and download marketplace music; playlist management that actually works; fun features like playcounts, song ratings, etc. to get our music the way WE want it.
