Is Xbox One S worth buying in 2018

Since all the new game titles coming out in 2018 (and those from late 2017) are either Xbox One X enhanced or come in native 4K resolution. Will the Xbox One S be able to handle them without any drop in frame rates or performance issues? And since the next Xbox console is already in development, for how long will the Xbox One S hold out to justify the purchase?
