Isn't this easy to steal?

Aside from the clasp looking very bulky, it also looks incredibly easy to steal.

I mean, a conventional watch strap is far harder to remove from someone's wrist but a skilled pick pocket can do it. The clasp on the Microsoft Band 2 (and 1 for that matter) looks like a gift!

This seems to be true for a lot of fitness bands where they try to make cool fastenings rather than secure ones.

Same with pretty much any watch, especially expensive ones. Experienced and skilled pick pockets can remove you from any watch very quickly. As always, it's a matter of limiting risk and not flashing your cash.

That's why I hope they update the firmware of it and the Microsoft health app to enable GPS track of it, in case you lost it, just as Nokia Treasure tag only much more funtional

Yes, absolutely, as I said a skilled pick pocket can take any watch but a bracelet strap watch is harder to steal because it has to be slipped over the hand and a conventional belt watch strap is still a lot more difficult to undo than just squeezing to buttons together and the whole thing just popping off.

Anyway, hopefully it's something they might address in future versions.

I guess it works as another case for those who would rather have the screen facing out instead of in, making it harder for pick pockets to get at the clasp.

Why would anyone want to steal a fitness tracker, don't think it appeals to anyone looking to pick pocket one.

I don't know what planet you inhabit, but homo sapiens sapiens is known to steal absolutely anything.

A pickpocketer learns how to steal certain items and I think they'll usually go for watches, wallets and things inside a bag.

Most watches are the typical linked band or the "pinned style" band. So unless a pick pocketer knows what a Microsoft band is and how it works then I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Most pick pocketers who steal watches usually distract the person who's wearing it. I would think it'd be easier to just take a wallet.
