Not sure if this is a good place... mod can move if not, but suddenly today I have a very odd issue:
My Desktop IE browses perfectly but my Metro/WinRT IE does not. Instead it displays an error:
I have tried these 'fixes' suggested from various search results:
So... looking for some guru to suggest another thing.

This page can?t be displayed
- Make sure the web address Bing is correct.
- Look for the page with your search engine.
- Refresh the page in a few minutes.
- Check that all network cables are plugged in.
- Verify that airplane mode is turned off.
- Make sure your wireless switch is turned on.
- See if you can connect to mobile broadband.
- Restart your router.
Fix connection problems
I have tried these 'fixes' suggested from various search results:
- Reset IE settings to defaults using Reset function
- Reset winsock/firewall to defaults using a netsh reset <winsock/advfirewall> command
- Restarted (no help)
- Tried changing proxy settings in IE to manual in case something is announcing an auto-proxy
So... looking for some guru to suggest another thing.
Oh yes, more info:
- It is not only IE that cannot browse, but all Metro/WinRT apps cannot either. The Store app started this investigation because it was showing an error, but really all apps cannot browse.
- Desktop browsers all work perfectly as I said.
- Using an IP instead of name also doesn't work
