Issue with Hotmail live account

Hi All! I just got a new to me used Samsung Focus and so far I dig it! One thing I don't get is my main live ID/Hotmail account. I've set up the email specifying the hotmail account but when I click on the hotmail tile there are no emails displayed. I set up a second hotmail account and it named it hotmail 2 and this one was able to retrieve the old emails from I guess up to 3 days ago. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix this?

Make sure [content to sync: Email] is checked.

I just checked the email settings and for the main hotmail account email sync has already been checked. Where as the hotmail 2 account it contains more options such as email, contacts, calendar, and tasks with all of these being checked for content sync.

Weirdest thing ever. So the email wasn't syncing/downloading to the phone but today I left the house and when I got to my destination email had been downloaded. Now email gets downloaded whenever a new one pops into my inbox.
