Issue with Proximity Sensor

i had a charging issue with Lumia 720 in the 3rd month of it's purchase. It wouldn't charge more than 1% even if i kept it on charging for hours.
I gave it to repairing and got it repaired in 4 working days. it was a pain to use an ordinary phone and miss out on emails and whatsapp.

After i saw the phone in good working condition in the centre, i was glad but when i came back home, i realised that the proximity sensor is not working. during calls, the screen remains on and i end up ending the call or putting it on hold.. (my boss got pissed on me as this happened 2 times on the call with him). also, automatic backlight is not working due to the same reason.
and when i keep my phone in my pocket, every time i get the phone out, i realise that the phone has opened random apps and clicked million random places. (numeric password has helped me in this to some extent but cant help during calls and it does get unlocked to the calling screen..)

i did the painful process of resetting my phone and installing 53 apps again with losing all my accounts, chats, highest scores, and so much other app data, but in vain. :'(

the most frustrating part is that i cant find time to go to the service centre due to office timings and i am free on sundays on which the service centre is closed.. someone please help.

Proximity issue? can't help but you can't put the phone in your pocket and not get random apps and in my case usually
"sorry couldn't hear a thing" if the screen isn't locked.
Lock it and that solves that problem and you don't need to lock it with a PIN just close it by a light squeeze on the power button -that's good enough.

Hi,
Have you disabled "Auto screen rotation". I have observed that when I set "auto rotation" Off, I had issues with proximity sensor.

Hi Aniket,

Can you please elaborate the issues these Nokia Guys told you for this erratic charging....me too having same...what expenses u incurred?

thanks,

NY

Take the phone back to the service centre. If this happened as part of the initial repair, the service centre is responsible and should fix the issue free of charge.
