Issues with Cortana alpha

Getting cortana in India is happy,but most help by she is "sorry I didn't catch that" which really irritating...

regional format: match phone language
language: english(india) at the top
speech: english(UK)

Go to settings>speech and select 'US English'. Make sure that 'Improve speech recognition for non-native speakers' is unchecked. Then, change the speech language back to UK English and see if that works. I did that and Cortana started recognising my voice commands. :grin:

Bingo! That fixed it.

A lot of people are having this issue with Cortana and are thinking it is a microphone issue.

Can anyone confirm that Cortana is not enabled on Lumia 1520 Hong Kong CV? It is missing from my WP8.1 update. Despite changing the region etc.

I don't think it matters what country variant the phone is. As long as you change the phone's region and speech language then Cortana should work for you!
