It's patch Tuesday! ... Again there are problems!

My SP3 has been continually upgraded from the original windows 8 and it's gotten better each time. Anniversary update in august was rough but since then the cumulative updates seemed to have smooth things over.

Though after 2 years now, I'm thinking maybe I should do a full refresh.

No "new" issues induce that we know of, yet, but haven't updated all my equipment. Still dealing w/multiple issues inflicted on several PCs when AU was applied, subsequent cumulative updates have done absolutely nothing to resolve which could mean a complete refresh may be in order, not a happy thought.

I only had the recent issue that affected people who were on the insider rings and then left them. They weren't able to update to the .221 build. However, MS released a script that fixed it. Other than that none of my computers or family computers had issues.

Hi Glad to see all this action and all the great responses to this issue:wink: Here's a good link from Microsoft about a clean installation of windows and some good information about the installation. I'm sure you all are aware of how important is is now days to keep a current back up image of your OS with a 3rd party image program like Macrium Reflect; but I never miss a opportunity to preach about this subject. I have 7 or 8 images on a seagate external drive. I can be up and running even with a hard drive failure in minutes. I can also mount that image as a virtual drive and copy and paste. If You haven't taken time to learn how to use a back up program, you should learn today. That's my sermon for today. Back up your OS !

my update took several hours, around 3 from memory. I just let it do its thing. eventually it finishes.
SP3 about 18 months old.
the update to W10 took about 8 hours.

950, random reboots. when it reboots will not connect to network (Wifi or LTE)
just shuts down for no reason, try to turn back on and will shut off and reboot then shut off again.
This didn't happen until I updated my phone yesterday.

My old Surface Book had some issues and those files repairs didn't work. I just created a new profile and everything worked fine. I believe my profile had become corrupt. I created a local account with admin rights (google creating a local admin account in windows 10 command prompt). I then copied all my folder under the corrupt profile to the new created profile. When I logged in to the new account I linked Onedrive and the store to my MS account and I never had to link it again.

Not able to install it on Build 187. Keep getting the error "We Couldn't Complete the Updates, Undoing the Changes." Any suggestions? I tried searching for the 14393.222 KB install file, but cannot find it. I have tried installing 14393.321 via WU and via the Cumulative patch file. This is damn frustrating.

Hi Have you tried any of the suggestions posted on this thread? Are you getting any error messages? Might try a reset!

No, it started normally which surprised me. After getting in it, I noticed that one of the updates failed so I just left it be. Unfortunately, my wife just contacted me and said her laptop has the spinning wheel again. My guess is that the failed update is trying again. I'll need to check it out tonight when I get home and find a permanent fix.

Hi ! All you members that are having issues, are you not getting a error code in history?? You can check the Relibility Monitor for WU also. One of these should give you some information! Type Reliability Monitor in your search Orb.
