When I first saw screenshots of WP7 I was not really that blown away. But over the past few months I have stopped into ATT stores and checked out the windows phone 7 devices. When I used the samsung focus I really liked everything about it. The screen, the OS, performance, everything. The idea of WP7 started to grow on me at that point.

I've had the iPhone 3GS for the past 2 years and my contract recently ended. I really thought about it made the plunge and got the Samsung Focus.

Man this phone is amazing! It is seriously one of the most slickest devices I have ever used.

I was a little bit bummed after reading about the NoDo issues with the samsung focus rev 1.4 phones but it wasn't anything that would sway to not get the phone. I installed the zune software and it prompted me for the feb. update. After that was done it said I had a march NoDo update available! So I got lucky and got the rev 1.3 I guess.

I also purchased a 32 gig SD card for extra storage. After reading a ton of info on which ones work and which ones do not I ended up getting a sandisk 32 gig card. I Put it in first and reset / formatted the phone before I did anything else. It then showed the appropriate 38 or 39 gigs of available space. I have synced 10 gigs of music to it without any problems so far.

So all in all my experience so far with WP7 has been great. I cannot wait to get into this phone and get more familiar with it.

One question:

Does this phone remember wifi networks you connect to and the connection settings or will I have to log in to my work and home wifi networks each time manually?

Can't wait for Mango.

Welcome to Awesome, indeed! I would highly suggest that you give Zune Pass a try with a free 14 day trial. Unlimited music streaming AND downloading on the go on mulitple devices, including your phone! More info at zune dot net.

Yes I plan to check out the zune 14 day trial. Speaking of zune I can't believe how much easier it is to use and sync with than iTunes. There are so many restrictions and weird rules with iTunes. Everything seems so much easier with Zune.

Welcome to WP Central and congrats on your new device. You went from a 3GS and me from the 4 and still think the Focus was/is a better choice. The UI is just silky smooth like Adam Sandler in "You Don't Mess With the Zohan".

I like it more than all my devices now and one thing that has helped me love the device even more is the back feature with the lack of 3rd party multitasking. For example, I'm using twitter and I get an SMS, I'll hit the notification to go to the messaging app, reply and then hit back a couple times and go right back to the app I was using. I've had this phone for so long, but only recently started using it and noticing how useful the back feature was. If it's multiple things I want to check, I'll hit the home key, select the app, do whatever, then hit the menu key again, select the next app, complete the task and then hit back as many times as it takes to get to the original app.

I'm one of the lucky ones who got rev 1.3 as well. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask away!

You can also sync your phone over a wife network assuming you have windows (might be able to with a Mac never tried). I just bought the HTC Arrive and loving it as well. ^_~ Enjoy the world of getting in and out of your phone quickly. And btw the keyboard is better I think than IOS.

Wife network eh? Sounds like it is probably a bloated old network protocol that causes more problems then it is worth....!

Welcome! What made you choose the Focus over the iPhone 4? I've recently had a few friends jump to iPhones from texting phones and I can't picture them leaving the platform.

Also check out BoardExpress for an easier time browsing the forums.

Well only if you try to install the mistress network will it take half of your resources.

I am pretty sure the wife network takes half or more of your resources as well; it just installs a root kit and tricks you into thinking you still have access to those resources....

I just got the GoPhone option on my Focus.. You can get 250 minutes for $25 (.1/min) and its good for 90 days. Then add features like 1000 texts for 9.99 (good for 30 days) and 500 meg for $25 (good for 30 days)

Will be interesting to see how the data usage pans out.. I've been using mostly WIFI.. but going to let the data flow .. just to see how much I use...
